Welcome
My name is Dionysia and I am an experienced counsellor and registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold a BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Professional Conduct Procedures.
This is a quality standard for experienced practitioners.
I have experience working with a wide range of emotional concerns. These include grief and bereavement, complex trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, identity and life transitions. I offer you a steady, reflective presence - one that allows for honesty, curiosity, and the gradual unfolding of what feels most true.
In addition to my private practice I also work as a senior counsellor in a local counselling service, providing open ended counselling, counselling via the EAP programme to schools, hospices and young adult services, and tutoring for trainee counsellors on a BACP accredited course.
My approach to Therapy
We all carry parts of our story that shape how we experience ourselves and others. Sometimes this can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, or uncertain about who we are and what we need. Counselling provides a safe space to explore these deeper layers—to make sense of the past, understand its influence on the present, and open up new possibilities for growth and connection.
I offer a thoughtful, confidential space in which we can work together to understand what may be happening beneath the surface. My approach is grounded in the psychodynamic tradition, which pays careful attention to unconscious processes, early attachment experiences, and the emotional life of relationships—both past and present. Through this exploration, we can begin to find meaning in the difficulties you face and develop a more compassionate understanding of yourself.
Our relationship in the room is part of the work too. By noticing what comes up between us, we can better understand how you connect with others and how you view yourself. This isn’t about getting things “right,” but about making sense of your experience in a way that feels meaningful to you.

Sessions and Fees
I offer weekly in person or online sessions to individual adults.
Initial Consultation* - £60 (1 hour)
Individual Sessions - £60 (50 minutes)
*The initial consultation offers us the opportunity to meet and for me to learn about your personal history and current life circumstances. If we agree to work together then sessions are offered on a weekly basis for either a short agreed time or for as long as you feel you need.
Safety & Confidentiality
Your sessions are grounded in care, safety and confidentiality. As part of this, I may ask you to complete some forms which require personal information. I am respectful of your data and privacy, always ensuring your information is handled securely and responsibly.
Any essential records are retained for five years after counselling ends and then securely destroyed. I remain transparent with you about this process at all times.
Choosing to seek support is a courageous step in itself. Whether you have a question or feel ready to schedule an initial consultation, I offer a reassuring and confidential space to begin our conversation together.
If you would like to check availability for an initial consultation, please feel free to reach out via email, whatsapp or phone. I aim to reply within 24 hours.
I am happy to have a free telephone call up to 15 minutes to establish your counselling needs and to see if this feels right for you.
