Welcome

My name is Dionysia and I am an experienced counsellor and registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) . I hold an BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Professional Conduct Procedures.

This  is a quality standard for experienced practitioners.

I have experience working with a wide range of emotional concerns, including grief and bereavement, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, identity and life transitions. I offer you a steady, reflective presence — one that allows for honesty, curiosity, and the gradual unfolding of what feels most true.

In addition to my private practice I also work as a senior counsellor in a local counselling service, provide counselling via the EAP programme to schools,  hospices and young adult services, and tutor trainee counsellors on a BACP accredited course.

My approach to Therapy

Therapy is a thoughtful way of understanding the deeper patterns that shape how you feel, relate, and experience yourself.

Sometimes we find ourselves repeating the same struggles — in relationships, in self-criticism, or in the way we cope with stress. Often, these patterns began earlier in life and operate outside our awareness. In therapy, we take time to explore these patterns together, helping you make sense of them with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.

I invite all aspects of you and offer you a supportive, non judgmental space, to uncover the roots of your current challenges. This process allows for deep-seated change and encourages your sense of self-awareness.

My approach is grounded in the psychodynamic tradition, which pays careful attention to unconscious processes, early experiences, and the emotional life of relationships — both past and present. Our relationship in the room is part of the work too. By noticing what comes up between us, we can better understand how you connect with others and how you view yourself.

The aim is to help you reach a place of understanding and self compassion so that change feels authentic, steady, and lasting
